Home > Buzz 3D software Technical data > Real-Time PhysicsWe have made provision for support of a full-blown physics engine (Havok or suchlike), but as yet have never needed to hook one into the engine; the vast plethora of physics capabilities of a dedicated physics engine have, on deeper analysis, not yet become vital since we have never encountered a project that required this kind of dedicated math library. Rag-doll physics, car-dynamics, etc, can all be reproduced using dedicated physics calculations written specifically for the task at hand, and introduced with far less overhead and at far higher efficiency. This translates into faster frame rates, reduced development costs due to no licenses to pay for dedicated physics solutions, and a leaner, more efficient and more easily maintained product. |
